WELCOME to the the Web site of the PNWLS, serving Alaska, far western Canada, Washington, Idaho and Oregon. We are a regional  affiliate of the North American Lily Society, dedicated to the culture, hybridizing, promotion and preservation of the genus Lilium. Our region is rich in lily history, both in terms of native Lilium species and lily growers, hybridizers and enthusiasts. We have created this website for all our members, those who may become new members, and for those who just want to know more about growing and enjoying our favorite flowers. You will find links to the North American Lily Society (NALS) and other lily societies, as well as to various lily resources. We will bring you news and features from the world of lilies with a special focus on the Pacific Northwest region.

Please take a few minutes to explore our site. We welcome questions and comments via e-mail. We also have membership applications available to print out. Click on the link on the left to read more about the benefits of joining the PNWLS.

We will be adding content and links as time goes on, so please check in regularly. We hope to provide educational content in the near future, so you can get started on the basics of lily growing. You may have heard that lilies are “difficult” to grow; this is not true! Modern hybrid lilies are vigorous and long lasting in the garden. For those who are not afraid of a challenge, growing the wild species can be very rewarding, though may of them are also easy to grow. No matter what your level of gardening expertise is, you too can grow lilies successfully in almost any part of North America. (If you live in South Florida or the North Pole, you may need a little help!)
